I took this picture of the sun while I was frolicking in a field with my dog Baldwin. It was an accident. I was lying in the grass taking pictures of the sky with my iPhone and the sun snuck into the frame.

I’d captured images of the sun before, but it was always head-on, so it was just blurs of bright light.  But this time I could see individual rays, flares, and halos around the sun. It was so cool.

Balwin thought it odd I was lying on the ground.
